FAQs about DAC ERP's Business Management Software
What does DAC's business management module cover?
DAC’s business management module provides the reporting, analysis, and visibility tools convenience distributors need to manage their operation strategically. It covers sales analysis, product analysis, market share analysis against manufacturer goals, manufacturer reporting, vendor receivables tracking, and business intelligence through DAC Office and Chart Manager. These aren’t generic BI tools applied to distribution data — they’re reporting capabilities built around the specific metrics and programs that matter in convenience distribution: manufacturer market share, trade program performance, sales by route, vendor receivables, and operational summaries across company, customer, product, and time period.
What is DAC Chart Manager and how is it used?
DAC Chart Manager automatically produces and distributes charts and data reflecting the distributor’s business operations. It provides a real-time dashboard alongside charts that recap activity across company, sales staff, vendor, and retailer dimensions. For management teams that need a regular operational pulse without pulling custom reports, Chart Manager delivers automated visual summaries that keep key stakeholders informed without manual report preparation.
What is DAC Office and what does it provide?
DAC Office allows distributors to view and analyze essential company information in charts, graphs, and reports that are easier to read and share than raw system data. It’s designed for management-level visibility — giving owners, executives, and managers the business information they need in a format that doesn’t require deep system knowledge to interpret.
How does DAC support manufacturer market share reporting?
DAC’s Market Share Analysis module provides visibility into the distributor’s progress against manufacturer market share goals throughout each quarter — not just at reporting deadlines. Demographic and branding summaries support manufacturer requirements. For convenience distributors whose manufacturer relationships and incentive earnings depend on maintaining or growing market share in specific categories, having this visibility on demand rather than only at quarter-end allows for course corrections before it’s too late.
What manufacturer reporting modules does DAC include?
DAC includes reporting modules for the major manufacturer reporting programs relevant to convenience distribution: MSA MULTICAT for tobacco, candy and grocery, and PepsiCo-QTG; InfoMetrics; WAM; Wells’/Blue Bunny; Swedish Match Prism; and Progressive Group Alliance PERCS. State tax reporting is supported for all states requiring electronic formats. These modules draw from the operational data already in DAC, so manufacturer reports reflect actual sales and purchasing activity without requiring separate data compilation.
How does DAC's TrackMax interface support rebate and contract management?
DAC’s TrackMax interface connects to Trackmax software, which focuses on profit optimization through contract and rebate management. Trackmax captures all sales and purchase dollars earned at the line item level. For convenience distributors managing multiple manufacturer contracts and rebate programs simultaneously — which is standard in tobacco and candy distribution — having rebate tracking tied to actual transaction data rather than manually calculated ensures rebates are accurately earned and claimed.
Can DAC's business management tools support Formless Printing for invoices and statements?
Yes. DAC’s Formless Printing module enables distributors to produce laser-printed invoices and statements without pre-printed forms. This eliminates the cost and logistics of maintaining a supply of pre-printed forms and gives distributors more flexibility in how their documents look and what information they include. For high-volume distributors sending large numbers of invoices, the cost savings from eliminating pre-printed forms add up quickly.
